Ready-to-use substrate specially designed for indoor or outdoor bonsai. Its structure combines peat, clay, quartz sand, lime, NPK fertilizer, and trace elements.

Key features

  • Suitable for indoor and outdoor bonsai
  • Starter fertilizer providing up to approximately 8 weeks of nutrition
  • Quartz sand promoting water absorption and drainage
  • Clay minerals helping to retain and then release nutrients
  • Not suitable for ericaceous plants that require a particularly low pH
  • Size: 5 L

Instructions for use

  • Before use, loosen the substrate slightly to eliminate any compacted areas.
  • Gently remove the bonsai from its pot and untangle the root ball using a wooden stick or a root rake.
  • Prune the roots according to the species' needs. The manufacturer indicates that a reduction of about one-third, or even up to half, can be performed depending on the bonsai.
  • Cover the pot's drainage holes with a fine mesh. Add a drainage layer if necessary.
  • Position the bonsai, fill with the substrate, and stabilize it. If necessary, secure it using thin wires passed over the root ball and through the drainage holes.
  • Wait until the surface of the substrate has begun to dry before watering.
  • Do not add fertilizer for approximately 8 weeks after repotting. Then begin fertilization adapted to the bonsai.
  • As a general guideline, indoor bonsai are usually repotted about every two years; outdoor bonsai may require a longer interval depending on the species and root development.

Precautions

  • Use this substrate only for potting and repotting compatible bonsai.
  • Do not use for ericaceous plants requiring a very acidic pH.
  • Adapt all root pruning to the species and the condition of the bonsai.
  • Avoid excess water and ensure that drainage holes remain functional.
  • Store the bag in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. Close the packaging carefully after opening.
  • Nutrient levels may change slightly during prolonged storage.

The label, packaging, and official product instructions remain the priority.
