Insecticide-free pheromone trap designed to monitor the presence of the codling moth in apples and pears, the larvae of which cause wormy fruit.

Essential features

  • Complete set with one trap body, two glue inserts, two attractant capsules, and a hanging wire.
  • Specific pheromone that attracts male codling moths.
  • Does not attract bees or other beneficial insects.
  • One trap can monitor up to five nearby trees.

Instructions for use

  • Assemble the trap body by folding the tabs according to the markings.
  • Separate and unfold a glue insert to expose the sticky surface.
  • Without touching the capsule with bare hands, place it in the center of the glue insert.
  • Slide the insert into the trap, sticky side up, then close and secure the trap to a branch using the provided wire.
  • Hang the trap from May to September in an apple or pear tree, at eye level and, if possible, in the direction of the prevailing wind.
  • Check the trap once a week.
  • Replace the attractant capsule and the glue insert after no more than six weeks.

Precautions

  • Do not touch the attractant capsule with bare hands to avoid reducing its effectiveness. Use a tissue or a piece of paper.
  • Prevent leaves and branches from touching the sticky surface.
  • In case of skin contact with the glue, wash thoroughly with water. In case of eye contact, consult an ophthalmologist if necessary.
  • Remove glue residue from clothing with cooking oil, then wash with soap or detergent.
  • Do not store with food or animal feed.
  • Only recycle completely empty packaging.
